Cryptocurrency Grin received a third permanent developer
Grin cryptocurrency developers at the beginning of the week voted to provide funding for about $ 10,000 per month to a programmer under the pseudonym “Ignotus Peverell,” who has been working on the project for a long time.
Ignotus Peverell is one of the founders of Grin — in 2016, he began to develop a code for the cryptocurrency transaction privacy protocol called MimbleWimble on GitHub.
In February, the community supported the nomination for the role of a paid developer “Antioch Peverell,” and before that, the cryptocurrency had only one permanent developer - “Yeastplume.”
Yeastplume noted that Grin’s material support model is more like donations, so assigning him to the role of a permanent developer seems to him “risky.”
During the last vote, community members also decided to allocate funds from the Grin General Fund to pay for the services of the audit firm Coinspect, so that it checked the “Grin code, which is critical for cryptography and consensus.” The estimated cost of the audit is $ 80,000. Coinspect is expected to submit the initial report by April 20.
In early February, Grin developers expressed disappointment that the community did not want to finance their work. Shortly after that, the requested amount was collected.
